Typical Tuesday!

I'm heading to bed, but here's a quick update for today.  Work went by super fast today.  No complaints there.  I had my hair done, ran a fire call, ate supper, & did 2 loads of laundry.  I got one florist quote today & have meetings with two more this week.  I have to get back into my gym schedule.  I've fallen slack over the past week.  I'm going to attempt to go in the morning.  We'll see how this goes.  Joel & I are going to the UNC vs. NCSU basketball game tomorrow night!  I can't wait to spend the evening w/ my love in Wolfpack Country!!  I will be getting at least one good picture of us in our opposing teams t-shirts!

Almost Monday!

Today was a pretty productive day.  I got to sleep in, but then I was able to meet Liz for lunch @ Southpoint.  I found jewelry for my bridesmaids & a necklace for me for the wedding day!  I haven't done much else this weekend.  Trying to rest my back to make it through this week.  I have a ton to do this week.  I have a new guy starting at work tomorrow, a huge order shipping out on Wednesday, and lots of herbs to move & caladiums to de-eye.  We are meeting Laura & Brian for supper tomorrow night, getting my hair done Tuesday, UNC vs. NCSU basketball game Wednesday night, and meeting w/ a florist & fire meeting Thursday night.  I'm also hoping to get some wedding stuff done.  I want to finalize the guest list, choose wedding favors, begin registering, & get Joel to start the passport process.  I'm exhausted thinking of all this, so I'm going to be hitting the sack pretty soon!

Home Alone...Again!

I consider myself to be VERY independent.  It works out well with Joel's work schedule because I get nights to myself to do my own thing without having to worry about pleasing someone else.  This makes me enjoy my time with him on his days off even more.  Here lately he has been going back into work to help out, so I'm home alone.  My independence is running low & I'm just plain tired of sitting home alone.  With that being said, I love that he is dedicated to his job & helps so many people.  I admire all that he does & love him so much for it!  I know I'm being selfish, but I just want a little time w/ my fiance!  I'm strong & things will return to normal eventually.

My back trouble has intensified over the last couple of days.  The original lower back pain that they say is SI joing related has now become an entire back ache and even into my hips.  The past two days have been miserable.  I can't sit or stand in any position to make it any better.  Today has been better, & I intend to continue relaxing so it'll be bearable by Monday.

I'm going to get ready for church.  Another thing I was looking forward to doing with Joel, but I'll be going solo tonight.

Diet

So, I've mentioned that I'm trying the Special K Diet.  This is my typical day:

Breakfast: Bowl of original Special K cereal
Snack: Special K snack bar & orange
Lunch: Special K meal bar, apple, & grapes
Supper: normal meal

I'm drinking diet green tea with citrus.  I've heard good things about it & I'm addicted.  I can have unlimited fruits & vegetables, so I'm trying to have those a lot.

Wedding note...I talked to one of the four florists this evening & I should be getting a quote within a few days.  I have an appointment next week with another & two more to make appointments with.  Say a little prayer!

Warm Temps!

I'm loving this weather!  It's so nice to be able to wear less layers to work every morning & end up in a t-shirt.  Work is starting to get busy; can't wait for the days that I'm pushed to the max to get the bare minimum done.

I love when I get home from work & feel productive.  If I never sit down I seem to get so much done.  I started the dishwasher, started laundry, picked up the house a little bit, took out the trash, ate supper, & wrote two letters.  I'm waiting to switch the first load of laundry to the dryer & then I'm headed to the gym & to Walmart.  Speaking of the gym, I think I've lost about 5 lbs and maybe 3 inches.  Hopefully it'll keep coming off! I'm no where near where I want to be.

Nervous Wreck!

I was encouraged by quite a few people to take the EVD (Emergency Vehicle Driver) course that was offered at MFD this past weekend. I had my doubts about going through with it.  I would LOVE to be able to drive a fire truck.  That's just a really cool thought! One day it'll be a good thing that I did it now, but boy was I a nervous wreck.  I've NEVER been one to get nervous.  I've been an athlete my entire life & played in front of crowds.  I was officers in clubs in high school & college & never once minding standing up in front of people.  Yesterday, however was a completely different story.  This course of 7 different obstacle courses of +/- 250 orange traffice cones intimidated me like nothing ever has before.  I never saw my score sheet, but I know I hit numerous cones & didn't get within my allowed measurements.  Anyway, this was a brand new experience for me.  I do look forward to getting more practice & being able to drive eventually.  This is one more certification marked off my list!

Happy Valentine's Day!!  This is mine & Joel's second Valentine's together.  We haven't been able to spend much time together over the last few days, so I was really looking forward to spending some quality time together tonight.  I'm not huge on having to do something special because it is Valentine's Day, because he's my Valentine every single day & we love each other & do special things for each other all the time.  But this year it was a much needed date night just because of our crazy busy schedules lately.  Long story short, I'm sitting at home alone now.  He had mandatory con-ed at work tonight & went back early since they had a grass fire & needed personnel to stand-by at the station.  I think I've seen him a total about 30 minutes today.  I went to the gym & just had left-over stromboli for supper.  I have a new appreciation for those that don't get to see their Valentine at all today.  And for those that are seperated for long periods of time.  I will get to see Joel on Wednesday, so it's not too terribly long.  I am very blessed to have such a great fiance & can't wait to spend our first Valentine's together as a married couple!  I love him to pieces!!

TGIF!!!

Today was such a busy day @ work, that I pretty much collapsed when I got home & haven't gotten much done since.  I took a shower, ate supper, & finished some work that I brought home.  My back is aching so bad & I'm just downright lazy.  It'll be Monday before I know it & it will be another very busy & stressful day @ work.  We did hire two guys to help me.  One will be starting on the 21st  & the other on the 28th.

This weekend will fly by because I'll probably be in EVD class all weekend.  I hope to spend a little quality time with my love!

Wedding Stuff!

I feel like we've accomplished so much for the wedding, but there still is quite a bit to do.  Joel & I sat down last night & started filling our the information sheets for the dj & videographer.  We have lots of songs to pick out.  It's going to be tough.  We've listened to so many of our favorites & haven't decided on a single one!  I'm currently searching for a florist!  Hoping for some quotes that I can handle in the next few weeks so my choice can be easily made.  We found out today that we are having our rehearsal dinner at Iron Gate Winery.  I'm looking forward to ironing out all these details for our BIG day....that's less than 6 months away! :)

Just One of Those Days!

Monday was a typical Monday.  Nothing seemed to go right yesterday.  I started my day off at Physical Therapy, which was painful.  That started my entire day off on the wrong foot.  I passed two dead, smelly skunks on the way to work & my radio stopped working.  I had a million things going on at work today & didn't seem to get any one thing completely accomplished.  I really don't like leaving things unfinished.  Problems with health insurance & me not having lost any weight really just topped it all off.  I really hope this turns itself around soon!

Blah...

Nothing exciting happened today.  I slept in until about 8:30, went to the gym, grocery shopping, balanced the check book, paid bills, and did 4 loads of laundry.  I cleaned up the house a little & went to the station to have supper with Joel. I'm in a blah mood tonight, so I'm hitting the sack early!  Goodnight!

Dreary Saturday!

Quick update on yesterday.  Although it was a very dreary & cold day, I feel it was a very productive day.  It started way too early when the pager went off @ 5am for a gas leak, but hey I got a jumpstart on my day!  Joel & I had breakfast together (cereal @ the dining room table).  Little things like this mean the world to me!  We went to Durham to look @ cars & met my parents @ the Farmer's Market Restaurant for lunch. I attempted an afternoon nap, went to church, & went out to supper w/ the love of my life!  We confirmed our pastor for our wedding ceremony!!!  One more thing marked off the extremely long to-do list.  Oh, & we ran a wreck & a vehicle fire!  I love my life!  Yesterday was an absolutely perfect dreary day!

I'm a Newbie!

So, I'm new to this blogging thing, but I thought I'd give it a try.  I read a few others & I find it's a great way to document what goes on everyday.  I've never been good at keeping a diary, but I'm hoping this will be easier.  I've always wanted to do scrapbooking to record special occasions & to be able to go back & look at them whenever I want, but I'm not a crafty person.  With all that's new & exciting in my life I wanted to try this out!

TGIF!!!  Today has been a very cold & wet day. I met Kate at Andy's for supper & went to the gym.  I've been going to the gym faithfully now for 2 1/2 weeks.  I think I've only missed one day.  This past Monday was my first day on the Special K diet.  My body is still readjusting to my new routine.  I'm getting up at 5:30 every morning to go to the gym before work, since I almost always have plans after work.  I really would like to drop a few pounds, inches, and jean sizes before the wedding.  I'm so glad I started this early because so far I've seen ZERO results.  I'm going to stay positive & hope for the best!  My exciting Friday night project while Joel is at work is to clean out the refridgerator.  Last night he pulled out the A1 Sauce and it was stuck in the door with what looked like grape jelly.

Tomorrow we are going to look at new cars & going to church!  Happy Friday!!!
