New Car!

Here's our new car!  I absolutely loved going through AAA.  We spoke with a guy on the phone & through emails.  Joel & I had test driven one in Durham, but we picked out exactly what we wanted offline.  The AAA guy found one and had it delivered to our driveway and took the Expedition away that Joel traded in.  It took about 20 minutes & we signed all the paperwork on our kitchen table!  This is our first big purchase together & I couldn't be more happy!

Probably the only picture of Joel in a NCSU shirt!  I LOVE this!

Daddy's Home!

Dad's surgery went well yesterday & he went home right before lunch this morning.  He won't be driving for at least a week and a half & will be doing strictly desk work for awhile, but hopefully pain free!  I was able to see him last night & this morning.

After leaving the hospital, I got the oil changed in the Acura, went grocery shopping, did four loads of laundry, changed the wreath on the front door & the garden flag, filled the birdfeeder, & went to my make-up consultation.  I was early for my appointment, so while wasting some time in Hobby Lobby, I found our Red & Carolina blue sand for our sand ceremony @ the wedding!  I also bought shirts for engagement pictures.  I look forward to having those done really soon!  I loved my make-up today & can't wait to see it all together with my hair & dress.  I also bought a few perennials & some strawberries today.  I potted the strawberries & hope to get around to finding a place for the perennials tomorrow.  I'm heading to bed!  Goodnight!

Busy!

I don't know where time has gone lately, but it has flown by.  Joel & I are playing co-ed volleyball with Mebane Parks & Rec.  We had games Monday, Tuesday, and tonight.  I met Kate for supper tonight and thoroughly enjoyed our time together to catch up.

Dad's having back surgery tomorrow, so I'm anxious.  Ready for it to be over & him to be well.  I hope I can make it to WakeMed tomorrow before he is discharged!

Pictures!

I finally got around to uploading some of my pictures.  I don't know if I mentioned or not, but Joel & I decided to paint both spare bedrooms.  He did almost all of the work & did an amazing job!  We are using old furniture, so it really doesn't match, but we are saving money.  Paint on the walls makes a big difference though!

The "Red" room will be serving as our office & we also were able to snag the bunk beds for free from his step-grandparents with all the mattresses, comforters, & sheets included!  I'll be asking for curtains for this room in our wedding registry!
This is the "Brown Mustard" room.  It has all my furniture from my apartment in it.  I need some wall decorations, but this room is pretty much complete.
This is from the UNC vs. NCSU game last Wednesday night.  This is the only picture I have of us in our opposing shirts.  I never like my pictures, but I'm loving this one!  I had just gotten my hair done the day before & I LoVe it!

I went back to the orthopaedist today & was told that the increased & almost unbearable backaches & muscle pain that I've been having for two weeks is a good thing.  The problems with my SI joint have been wrong for so long, they say it'll take a very long time of teaching them how to be right again & that pain elsewhere says that my body is working around the injured part & making up for it.  So, at this point I'm very frustrated and a little discouraged.  I'm too young to be in so much pain by lunch that I just want to come home and hit the sack!

Speaking of back issues, Dad has been battling with it too.  He injured his back years ago and had occasional flare ups.  He fell during one of the snows and it's been bad ever since.  He has disk issues & will be having surgery next Friday @ WakeMed.  Please keep him in your prayers!  I know things will go as planned & he will be back to 110% before I know it!  He has to be all better by August 6.  I want him to be pain free as he walks me down the aisle!

I CANNOT wait until tomorrow afternoon @ 4:30pm.  I'm going HOME!!!  I have't been home in a very long time.  I haven't seen my dog or grandparents since January.  I've met my parents a few times, but I haven't stayed @ home.  I'll only be home for a day, but I plan to make the most of it.  I have so much wedding stuff to show them & need to find childhood pictures to use.  I was hoping to catch a ride on Dad's new boat, but it looks like it's going to rain!  Booo!  I hope to have supper w/ my cousins, Andrew & Abby, & meet up with my Nash County girls for a little catch-up time.  I don't know that I'll have time to sleep!  I'll be heading back Sunday morning to go to work for a little bit & then Joel & I have tickets to the Florida State vs. NCSU.

Terrific Tuesday!

I have been really lazy lately! Joel & I did thoroughly enjoy the UNC vs NCSU game last Wednesday.  I had to sit amidst many Carolina fans up in the rafters at RBC Center.  I would post the picture, but I left my laptop @ work today, so I'll be doing that tomorrow.

I have now visited with 4 florists.  I hope to choose one by next week. We still need a preacher, to pick our food, finish picking songs, register, order favors, etc. I feel like we've made a lot of progress, but there are still little details to be worked out.

I'm going home this weekend & absolutely cannot wait!!! I haven't been home in awhile & am really excited to see my family & Max!
